Q: Suggestions Please!!!!

I'm a heavy Mt Dew drinker and now that I'm pregnant I need to quit drinking it. I'm looking for something to replace the addiction. I'm drinking tons of more water now, but still need something to replace the sweet stuff. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

11 yrs ago w/ my first pregnancy, I was addicted to Mt. Dew pretty badly, I was never told by my OB that it was harmful or anything. I drank alot during my entire pregnancy & everything was fine. My second pregnancy same thing. Just recently a few yrs ago all a sudden I can't even stand the taste of Mt. Dew & switched over to Dr. Pepper. I myself have been stressing over the caffeine intake and effects & I research constantly caffeine & pregnancy, I can only find that 200mg is recommended & that no agreement or solid conclusion that caffeine during pregnancy can cause harm to baby. Now that I'm on my 3rd pregnancy I have been drinking gatorade it is sweet (atleast the cool blue flavor is) and when I just NEED that carbonated drink I go for root beer and sprite which are caffeine free.

SOooo sorry!!! In Canada, the 'original' Mt Dew IS caffeine free!
But that is always an option!

Unless your're buying specifically caffeine-free, Mt. Dew is most certainly NOT caffeine free!

The bright side is that Mt Dew is caffeine free! So its really just the sugar intake. Honestly tho I would feel better about having the sugar than the artificial sweetners! In high doses the artificial stuff can cause problems in pregnant women.. Look it up!
I'm a coca cola drinker which really is worse cause of the caffeine, I just tried to reduce the amount I have a day. Just make sure to drink lots of water, fruit juice and milk.

I wonder if you could begin to dilute the Mountain Dew w/ club soda??? I used more & more milk in my coffee to wean off, I imagine the caffeine headaches would be the worst part. Good luck!

MiO Water Enhancer. I'm not into artificial sweeteners personally, but I have tried it, and it's amazing tasting, sugar free, and from what I hear, soda addicts do a good job switching to it, over soda. You can get it at any regular chain grocery store. http://www.kraftbrands.com/mio/
