I love swimming during the summer. Is it safe for me to go swimming in a lake? is there any precautions I should take if I do go in a lake?

What they said it is only a risk if ecoli is high or you are having sex in the water ;) your vagina is good about things out and not in unless you force it. But swimming is great for pregnancy.

I would say yes also. However, if your local beach or health unit publishes e.coli counts for the beaches, be sure to check that they are in the "low" range. Typically e.coli is a bigger risk after a heavy rainfall, when rainwater can potentially wash manure and other e.coli contaminated stuff into the water. The risk is generally pretty low, but as your immune system is suppressed, it's better to be safe than sorry. Regardless of whether or not you know the levels, if there is a risk of e.coli it's best to make sure you don't ingest the water. Have fun at the lake - I wish I could join you (still freezing where I am)! :)

If there are I didnt know of it when I went last summer when I was pregnant with my daughter. Shes almost one and healthy as can be. Its the only exercise thats not to strenuous if your not a big activity doer. And believe me when I say the water is great and taking the pressure off your back. Hope that helped a little.
