thanks so much everyone, I guess tonight I will continue my progesterone but get out a good old butter knife and cut it in half :) love how ttc and pregnancy u use all sorts of kitchen equipment lol, I put my progesterone on a tea cup saucer (same one all the time and let on my night stand ) and put it back in fridge till right b4 crawling in bed(theyll melt if u let them out) hopefully cutting back some will make my headaches let up some :) thanks my loves :)

There are actually a ton of benefits to some added progesterone through out the entire pregnancy that I have read. The stretch mark thing was one of them with the cream.. another one was a study that showed improved IQ's in young children that their mothers used the cream or progesterone most of the entire pregnancy. Though.. I would plan to cut it down as you got near to giving birth as I have heard it can prevent your milk from coming in.. if you plan on breast feeding. Other wise there are some great benefits to just continuing to applying it into the the 3rd trimester. :) and usually yes the placenta should take over from anywhere from 9-12 weeks.

Your doctor should tell you when to stop taking the progesterone. I was taking progesterone cream since 3 dpo and stopped applying it.. gradually at around 16 weeks.. stopping it completely by a lil over 17 weeks, but I don't know much about the suppositories. I would just go ahead and ask your doctor.

If you feel that weaning seems like the right option for you then go for it, it would probably be the easiest on your body to have the additional progesterone be removed gradually rather than cold turkey but that is just my opinion :) good luck

they said i could stop at ten weeks, but i heard of ladies continuing 14 weeks and it did not hurt anything so just kept going, really wondering if most stopped cold turkey or if they weened?

I assume you are under doctors care for the progesterone and pregnancy? I would be contacting the doctor to get a recommendation from them on what is best to do given your specific medical situation. Best wishes
