Q: How much weight did you gain in your first trimester?

I need to hear "real" numbers, because it seems like I'm going to go over the 4.4 pounds recommended by Health Canada. I'm 10 weeks and I gained 5 pounds already, and seeing as I've been constantly hungry for three weeks, I'm guessing the pounds are gonna keep piling up!

Since I can't do much about it other than ensuring my snacks are healthy and I'm exercising regularly, I thought hearing what other women gained in their first trimester would be reassuring!

Cingrats on Your little one. I'm 33 .5 weeks nad I gained nothing in my first trimester. I lost probably like 4 lbs. it all depends on what weight you start at..your body will gain what it needs. I am a plus gal so my body didn't gain anything but if you're thin...your body might need to gain more to support the baby. It's ok if your dr says its ok. Your dr will let you know of you're gaining to fast or slow. *luck and prayers*

I lost 5 lbs in my first trimester due to nausea and morning sickness. If you have gained weight- more power to you! Just make sure you're eating healthy and everything will be fine :)

My first two, I lost weight due to constent morning sickness. With this one I gained 12 pounds in the first trimester. I was always hungry with this one, I was small to begin with, so my doctor was actually happy with the weight gain. I'm now 25 weeks and have gained 21 pounds total. I only gained 15 with my first and 17 with the second, so this one is kind of a shock to me.

5 pounds by week 17 and now at week 27 I've put on 17 pounds! Every woman will put weight on at different times throughout the pregnancy. My sister was an itty 106pounds pre-pregnancy and then put on about 17pounds in the first trimester.

I'm 25 weeks and have gained a total of 9 pounds (but I'm a larger lady, so I've actually gained more than I'm supposed to at this point...but I'm not stressing about it either...lol). In the first trimester, I gained 2 pounds and in the second trimester I gained the other 7 (so far). I did not have any morning sickness, so i didn't experience the initial loss that some ladies have when they are sick all the time in the first trimester.

Every woman is different though.

At 16 weeks I had gained 10 lbs - currently at 19 weeks I have gained about 12 lbs. A little more that I want - pre-pregnancy I was considered a normal weight. My obgyn hasn't said anything about my weight - yet;)

I gained no weight in my first trimester (but i did have bad morning sickness) By 20 weeks I had gained 7lbs and now at 28 weeks i have gained a further 8lb, so in total to this point i have gained 15lb.
Everyone is different and guidelines will be set according to your start weight before you got pregnant. You ARE going to gain weight so don't worry
