Q: Short baby?

I've just been to the doc for a checkup..
Baby's weight is nice and high.. (above average) but her femur length is shorter than it should be (measuring about 2 weeks less tgan GA) .. Doc isnt worried but I was just wondering if this means she's short and fat..? She's healthy but I was just wondering if this could be anything to be concerned about.. I'm not tall at all so maybe it's just genetics...?
Thanks!

I wouldn't worry. When I had my 20 weeks scan they said everything was perfectly normal from what they can see. Then they gave me a print out saying the arms and legs were above average and the abdomen and head were below average... I'm just happy it has a small head, because it's daddies is HUGE and I was worried about pushing it out lol. They're not all going to grow at the same rate, so I completely agree with Danni & mamaof2.

I agree with danni...Its no different then us mamas..our bellies all grow so different..The baby is no different. :) I just found out that my baby is about 8 ounces bigger then other babies at this stage....I'm sure each baby has a growth spurt at different stages then others. No worries mama!

I haven't got an answer, but i always wondered about this...everyone is different shape and sizes so how can they "measure" a baby against a checklist...surely babies have different "body" measurements to each other like adults do??
