Q: pregnancy weight gain at 15 weeks

Hi all. Im currently 15 weeks pregnant and have only gained a pound in weight...Im just asking really if anyone had the same issue in a previous pregnancy and should I be worried as most books say 5 pounds is normal gain by this stage?? I was overweight to begin with and actually lost 7 pounds initially when I found out I was pregnant.. my appertite hasnt been great and I have been struggling to eat due to heartburn... any advice appreciated :)

I lost 4 lbs in the beginning and by week 17 I had gained a total of 3 lbs. I'm not exactly the smallest of people though so it doesn't bother me, but my doc didn't seem thrilled that it was only 3 lbs but he didn't tell me it was cause for concern. I go next week for my 21 week appointment and since my appetite has come back in the past couple weeks I imagine I've gained a couple more lbs.
On a side note: everyone gains differently a friend of mine had only gained 10 lbs her whole pregnancy and had a healthy baby boy.

im 13 1/2 weeks and had an appointment yesterday and to date since my pre pregnancy weight ive lost 6lbs. the first 11 weeks i barely ate a thing, now im starting to eat more and not quite sure why im still losing and not gaining but the baby looks great and so far the dr is not concerned. until the 29th when i go back we will see what happens then. just try to eat what you can small things here and there and take your vitamins thats what they tell me!

I am 14 weeks tomorrow and have just about gained 2 pounds. I'm normal weight, but have had no appetite and have been really sick. With my first I had gained 8 pounds by now. Every pregnancy is different. As long as baby looks ok, everything is fine!!!

its not a big deal as long as the baby seems to be growing properly. If you are overweight your body will just be pulling the required calories from your body stores, as long as you are eating healthy and taking your vitamins then you should both be fine, the most weight gain usually happens after 16 weeks when he baby starts to pack on the weight and eventually the fats stores for after birth. I am not sure what you situation but depending on your pre- pregnancy weight you could be asked to gain as little as 10lbs total, I am overweight and they want mw to gain 25 max. Good luck

i am exactly , exactly the same, overweight, lost weight at beginning of my pregnancy, like 10-15 pounds at the start and now since my 3weeks appointment, and my ten week and today my 15 week appointment I have been at 219 pounds...said if no weight gain by the next month appointment I can speak to the nutritionist but as of now there is no concern I am told and is actually favorable :)

I lost weight my first trimester, I am 20 weeks now and I have gained the weight back that I lost plus 2 pounds. My doctor isn't too worried about it. I think you are ok. My appetite hasn't changed and I think i eat better and my appetite is a little less now that I'm pregnant.

Totally normal...I gained 3 pounds by the time I was 15 weeks, so you are fine...
