Q: Did you have progesterone checked early? My nurse thought I was crazy for asking!

I had a MC in February (it's now May) and when I spoke with my Doc he said next time he wanted to do a beta count and progesterone level check. Well it's next time and when I called the office, of course he's out, and the nurse thinks a progesterone check would be pointless because it's so early. (I am just now 10dpo, found out yesterday). Am I crazy for wanting this?

Hi :) I had a stillbirth in September last year and a chemical December last year, Fell preggo in Feb the only thing my doctor checked was my HCG levels to make sure they were rizing, she put me on Progesterone tablets without even checking the levels, I never requested them check cause I trust her :) She said to me that the Progesterone tablets can do no harm and only helps strengthen the pregnancy :) I am so thankfull to be out of the 12 weeks period now... Good luck hunny, just stay positive :) Happy & healthy 9 months :)

It doesn't sound crazy to me. It's not a difficult test and will help to set your mind at ease. Assuming everything looks okay, that'll be the end of it. If there is going to be an early MC, there's often little that can be done to prevent it - my doc said that with low progesterone, it is important to start taking supplements as soon after O as possible, but at least you'll have a realistic idea of whether or not to expect problems and how your body is handling the pregnancy.
