Q: Nucal Scan

Hiya,
I'm due to have a nuchal scan + blood tests on thursday. Just wondering what I may expect?
I had an emergency scan at 10 weeks and everything was fine so fingers crossed everthing is still fine! Bit annoyed mind that i need to pay £4 for each scan photo! Grrr Bloody NHS!

Where do you live? I'm on the NHS and didn't pay for my scan pictures.

Did they do a dating scan at your 10 weeks? They may do another dating scan to be more accurate.

It's pretty straight forward they just look at the fluid at the back of the baby's neck to determine how much fluid there is. More being high risk. Then after they take a sample of blood. No big deal just a normal scan! :)

I got my results back about 3 weeks later, by that time I was 15 weeks pregnant.

its pretty standard but they will do some up close views of babies head and neck and do some measurements, lots of pointing and clicking lol
