Q: Confused about fetal measurements...

I went for an early ultrasound due to severe cramping, and the technician said the fetal is measuring 5w3d.

Am i further on what i was dated by the doctor who said 5w4d but he was going by LMP.
Is this the age of my baby?

If thats the case i conceived a day after AF arrived, is that even possible?

Thanks

If they have reason to, they'll probably change it to a more accurate date after the first ultrasound. Based on my LMP they thought I was about 2 weeks further along than I truly was (but I know when I ovulated so I knew it would be changed), so the first due date they gave me was just based on LMP. After that ultrasound the date was adjusted and she's been measuring pretty accurately based on that EDD ever since.

Exactly the doctor adds the first two weeks because it makes it simpler to calculate how far along you are for them as they can calculate from last AF since not all women know when they ovulate so it's hard to find the conception date. For me I have two different possible due dates since I have such a variable cycle (33-46days) and never ovulate at the same time If they go by the last AF I'm at 6 weeks 4 days (due Jan 22 2013) and if they go by OV date I'm 4 weeks 6 days (due Feb 3, 2013)

No the first two weeks (week 1 and 2) you aren't actually "pregnant", so you are about 3 weeks 3 or 4 days since conception. Week 3 is usually when conception occurs.
