Q: Glucose test range?

Ok so I had my 1 hour glucose test on Thursday and my Dr called a little bit ago and said that my level was in the rather high range at 149. But all of the charts are so confusing on what is "normal" and what isnt. I wasnt able to eat 2 hours prior to the test so, thats what is making it hard to find the range. Have any of you had a high 1 hour and a normal 3 hour test?

Ok ladies, I had my 3 hour scan on Saturday and they called this morning with the results...
NORMAL! Yay! Although I wish I had not had to sit through 4 hours of torture to find this out!

I had a 1 hr glucose testing done last week, the doctor said mines were high too. But I didn't ask what was the range. She asked me to come in to get the 3 hr test. I'm going in tomorrow morning and not looking forward to sitting in the clinic for 3 hrs!!!

I also agree with mandylee.. even if it comes back that I have GD for instance... its not the end of the world. I have done the diet myself in the past and it actually makes you feel really good! You have to do a lot of carb counting and monitoring of sugars and check you blood glucose levels but its really not a terrible horrible thing to control. I have even been questioning kind of introducing it again because I am having a terrible time with carbs lately.. i feel like crap and cant seem to digest them. If they are counted .. it makes a huge difference.

hi im not sure of those numbers as im in australia and we have a different system of number however when i had my test with my last pregnancy i was right on the cut off point for good or bad levels. i went for weeks with doctors saying different things that yes it was too high or no it was fine. Finally a new doctor suggested that i meet with the diabetes nurse and start monitoring my blood levels to see what it said WELL my levels were sky high!!!!! just some fried rice would put me 4 times what i was supposed to be at... so i follow the diabetic diet exactly which wasnt anywhere near as hard as i thought it would be. thankfully my levels stayed good as long as I was eating right and i thankfully never needed insulin injections. Hopefully you do fine in the next test but dont let it stress you as most the time it can be easily managed with diet. good luck xx

depends on the lab that determines the levels usual anything over 130-140 depending on lab.. is high and then you need to take the 3 hr GTT. Don't worry my last GTT at one hr was at 160 so your still under what my last GTT was.. I am pretty sure I am failing the 1 hr.. will be doing the 3 hr too most likely. Its pretty common though I have heard a lot of my friends not passing the 1 hr GTT but passing the 3 hr with flying colors. So I would not worry too much about it. That number is honestly not all THAT high. So I am thinking your will do just fine in the 3 hr. Fingers crossed!
