Q: Is it normal to spot brownish blood after your first pap smear?

I just went for my first prenatal visit and she said that she needed to do an annual pap smear. I was told it was normal to spot but I can't help but to freak out a little. I have read so many horror stories of people miscarrying after a pap smear in early prenancy and I am wondering if anyone can give me some peace of mind here. Its been a day and Im still spotting brown. :/ Im so worried.

I had my pap done back in July & I freaked out too...I've had plenty done in my lifetime but never have I ever had a clump of blood come out the size of a quarter..the nurse assured me I was fine...I quit spotting a few hrs later so I calmed down....I think that my doctor might have scraped a bit much, that's okay because I have a new doctor now lol

If you're just spotting you should be fine. as long as you're not going through a panty liner or more an hour. I would advice you to call the doctors office if the spotting continues longer than a full24 hours to do a checkup and make sure everything is indeed alright!
I spotted after mine too. Just stay calm because extra stress can cause miscarriage.
