Q: The name game- who won?

I am really trying to not over rule my husband with naming our baby girl. Its our first so we are both very excited. I know if I pulled the "I am the one carrying her" card he'd buckle down and let me pick the name but I dont wan't to do that. I think we have it down to 3- Josie (his) and Ellie and Madelynn (mine). We know her middle name will be Anne. We get to see her soon at a 3D/4D appt so I'm hoping that seeing her face will help us decide. Any experiences or thoughts are appreciated! This is harder than we thought!!

My husband and I had chosen a name for our daughter by 16 weeks or so I thought, than we had a 4D ultrasound done at 27 weeks and I knew we had chosen the wrong name !!! seeing her will deff help you choose a name ... it sure did for us !!

The middle name for our daughter was set (after my mom who passed away) but we had a nice debate on her first name. We had it narrowed down to two names...we each had our favorite but also didn't have a problem with the other one. My DH finally conceded but I had to agree that if our next child is a girl, his name wins:-) So technically I "won" but he agreed (and I didn't have to pull the "I'm carrying her" card) LOL

Oh I like Madelynn, and you can call her Maddy for short! And Madelynn Anne sounds good together too! Good luck and she will love any name you give her!

They are all nice names, josie is cute, its not like he has picked something terrible... I agree with you plan, wait until you see her at the ultrasound or even wait until she is born :)

im still battling my dh over what to name our son. He'll only give me one name! its ridiculous i have several and he shoots them all down. i just decided to put it off for now. maybe he will change is mind on some of mine, if not when bub gets here we will know. about the "im carrying her" route, maybe not. i thought about it but i didnt want to make my dh feel useless in our journey. hes part of it just as much as i am, and if it were the other way around i wouldnt appreciate him saying that to me, id feel bad. good luck!

it may be easier if you keep those names in mind and then decide after shes born .. ? also consider initials.. be sure the initials wont spell anything. think about what kind of nicknames may be used along with each name too.
with all my children i ultimately won, but i didnt choose the "im carrying" route either. i kept an open mind and even if i thought "theres no way im naming the baby that" i would still act like it was being considered. in the end my names always won, mostly because he just got used to them and started to like them. good luck!!
