Q: Tick Bite and Amoxicillian

I live in the midwest and found a deer tick on/in me yesterday morning. I went to urgent care in hopes they could tell me if I may have been infected with Lyme Disease. I saw two different doctors...one wanted me on amoxicillian just in case I have it, and one said to wait for the symptoms and then start taking it. Any advice? I'm 6 weeks along.

I have Lyme, so if you need any help with that please send me a message!
It's best to have the tick sent in and tested. It really hides in your body and won't show up on a test until it's well established.
The best thing to do for a new bite is take astragalus. It's safe to use during pregnancy. I learned about it from "Healing Lyme" by Stephen Buhner.

I would take the amoxicillan my doctor told me with certain things during pregnancy the risks out weigh the side effects. For ex when I was 5wks I was told nicotine patches and gum weren't safe during pregnancy however they were better to use rather than continuing smoking. In ur case it'd be better and safer to take the antibiotic rather than contract Lyme disease. Good luck. Also amoxicillian is in the group b prego category so it is one of the safest antibiotics to take. Hope this helps
