Q: Feeling resentful and disconnected from this pregnancy

Has anyone else gone through this? I have a daughter thats almost 2 and things were completely different with her. My boyfriend and I were in a great place in our relationship, we agreed that I could be a stay @ home mom so I could breastfeed. It was a great first experience. I'm now 25 weeks & we split up. Before I got pregnant, I had finished breastfeeding & got in the BEST shape and looked so good. Him and I were having a blast now that our daughter was old enough to have sleepovers with family. I was planning on getting breast implants (shallow to some, but I have a very athletic build and even at my smallest I am very disproportionate. My boobs are too tiny for my body). Life was great, and then bam....I get pregnant and everything went to shit. He gets to go out and live life (he is still also very much there for our daughter), and I'm just stuck. I don't feel any resentment, but I can definitely identify with the feelings of disconnection. I just wish that this was happening to someone else a lot of the time. I almost never feel happy or excited - even hearing the heartbeat or seeing the ultrasound images don't make me feel anything special or really anything at all. The worst part is that family and friends get angry when you say things like this and try to tell you how you should be feeling - it's an awful situation because I feel so alone. My DH understands, but hears all his buddies' stories about how their wives act/acted while pregnant and does think it's a bit weird. Try to find someone to talk to, having a confidant to talk through your feelings with will make it easier to deal with your feelings. Hang in there - you are not alone!
