Q: I'm 19 weeks today and haven't gained ANY weight yet - is this normal?

In the beginning when I was feeling more nauseous I actually lost a couple of kg and I'm still about 1-2kg lighter than I was before I got pg.

My last scan was at 17w3d and everything was fine then.

It's definitely because i have a decreased appetite and some of my food portions (especially dinners where i really used to over-eat) are smaller because i can't always eat so much anymore - so obviously one will lose some extra weight that shouldn't have been there in the first place.

But has anybody else had NO weight gain by 19 weeks?

I know how you feel. One of the best things to me about finding out I was pregnant was that I thought I would finally gain weight, as I have always been skinny and can't seem to gain any weight. But I am 19 weeks and 3 days pregnant and I haven't gained anything I am around 5"5 and 106 lbs, I don't even have a bump :( the baby seems fine on the scans and I can feel him/her moving, I just hope I gain some weight and get a bump soon.

I'm 18 weeks and have only gained 1 pound.
I never lost any, and never had any sickness...
Just havent gained anything yet!
However just had my ultrasound today and baby is PERFECTLY on track ^^
So I guess, when the baby needs you to gain - you will!

By 19 weeks I was DOWN 13 pounds I had been down 15 but have began gaining back the weight I lost. Now at 22 weeks I have gained back 3-4pounds total, but am still down 11-12 pounds or so. So really don't worry, as long as you are being healthy and getting the things you need it's no sweet.

Depends on how big you were pre-pregnancy. I'm overweight, and have actually lost 9lbs since my first prenatal appointment (and probably more before that because of the morning sickness). As long as your doctor isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either!

By 22 weeks, I had only gained 3 pounds, most of my weight gain was during the second half of my second trimester and majority during the 3rd trimester. I wouldn't worry:-)

At my 30 week appointment I had only gained 4 lbs for the whole pregnancy....u/s at 22 weeks showed everything was fine(I think I was only at 1lb weight gain total then) and I'm sure at my u/s this week(do to my anti-kell stuff and not the weight gain) it'll still look good, also my doc doesn't seem concerned about the low weight gain.

Like you said if your not able to eat as much as you used to pre-pregnancy then that there is going to either keep you at a steady weight or lose a little bit. As long as your docs not concerned and everything looks good I wouldn't worry. I know easier said then done, I worried when I couldn't keep any weight I gained but eventually it ended up staying on a little bit at a time.

Yup - I gained 10 lbs my entire pregnancy. Your body will gain what and when it needs. As long as your Dr says you're fine - enjoy. Good luck.

I know how you feel. I am 19 weeks tommrow and have not gain even .5 lbs. My dr is also not concerned, because I feel my baby girl wiggling and she is growing. If you look at my belly bump photos I have the obvious pregnant look lol. But no weight! Its kinda frustrating me a little. With my first I was underweight and therefore gain 60lbs. SO this is all new to me. I wouldn't worry either :)

I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and haven't gained any weight. I was concerned about it for a while!! But my doc ensured me that as long as the baby is growing fine and isn't being stunted, it is completely OK to not have gained any weight. She said When baby starts growing more quickly, I'll start to see the scale creep up. I say just feel blessed :)
