Took me until week 25 before they were willing to attempt to try and "hear" the heartbeat.

sorry yes just remembered a friend had a ultrasound at 10 weeks and she deffo said she heard the heartbeat at 10 weeks, so it must depend on the ozzy, I know the hospital I go to the scan machines don't have sound.

a doppler is supposed to pick it up at 12 weeks, a scan can show a heartbeat but never heard of them having sound, unless different hospitals have different machines, you usually hear it at 16 weeks, cos this is mostly the time you see ya midwife properly.
it does all depend how the baby is lying too.

Yeah, they say that the ultrasound machines at the hospital don't have sound apparently??? So with pp I heard it at midwife appointments from 16 weeks, though I did have a private scan at 7 weeks and heard it then :)

With my first i never heard it in pregnancy, only when being monitored in labour. I hired a doppler from eBay to hear it whenever i wanted to. I have my 16 week appointment soon so im going to ask my midwife to see if she is actually willing to do it.
