Q: Raspberry leaf tea

I am wondering if raspberry leaf tea is worth drinking? Has anyone drank it and noticed a difference? And also, where can you buy it? I looked at my local grocery store in the tea section and couldn't find it, I haven't checked at wal-mart yet..

My friend drinks it to ease menstrual cramps. And my SIL drank it in her last trimester and she claims it helped with the contractions. She didn't drink it with her second pregnancy though and that labor was much harder for her. So maybe it helps. But that maybe is all I need to try it! :)

I've been drinking it since I hit the third trimester...I use the Earth Mama blend (you can get it cheapest off vitacost dot com). It's yummy, a little honey or sugar and I'm good to go. I don't know if it will help with labor, but I'll try anything. And it tastes good, so I don't mind a nice hot cup of relaxing tea!

Layne - some believe it could induce labor, it tones the uterus, and brings blood and circulation to the lady parts ;) It's supposedly been used for centuries to ease child birth. But hey, what do I know :) I just know a lot of women out there believe in it, so I drink it too :) haha

Layne- it's supposed to strengthen your uterus and make delivery easier. But you can't start it too soon, I've heard.

I'm 27 weeks, and I have started drinking 2-3x a day :) I've only ever heard good things about it. Some people are overcautious and believe it will induce labor.

I've heard of very fast & easy labors from women who took it religiously toward the end of their pregnancies.

I took it with my first son, but only a few times a week, just before I had him, and my labor was also short (12 hours from start of contractions to birth) and pushing took me 5 minutes... I don't know if that was coincidence tho, because I really didn't take it regularly.

Due to the speculative labor inducing effects, I waiting until 27 weeks to start drinking it. I make a very large pitcher of 2-3 bags, using 2 cups boiling water, letting it steep, and then filling the glass pitcher with cold water and refrigerating over night. This makes me more likely to drink it continuously throughout the day, instead of having to steep a new hot cup every time. :)
