Q: sleeping tips for early pregnancy?

anyone else not sleeping? cause it's 4 am and i've been up for an hour and a half. i'm only 5 weeks right now and it's not discomfort keeping me awake, nor is it worrying about baby stuff. this has happened a few times already. i don't know why i'm up, but i'm not keen on making this a habit.

anyone have this problem? any tips or tricks on how to fall asleep and stay asleep (without drugs)?

I actually slept better than ever at that stage. I wud nap straight after work, wake up eat something then straight back to back, now at 12weeks, I run to the loo like 7-8 times at night! That's causing me to lose some precious sleep. I think its just Gods way of preparing us for the long nites ahead after baby is born! All the best to u....hope the sandman visits tonite...

I am 5+ weeks and having a really hard time sleeping also. Very normal for me, in my other pregnancies the doc had me take the over the counter unisom as it not only helps you sleep but it is also great for morning sickness. Also benedryl is one my doctor suggested because it is very safe for baby and will put you to sleep, I was a little more groggy the next day with the benedryl but might be just me.

I would drink a cup of chamomile tea with milk and that seemed to help on those restless nights.

It's normal. Eventually your sleep should go back to normal. When I was 5 weeks I was up and down and then wide awake and couldn't sleep. Now it's back to normal except Im tird a lot lol. Good luck
