Q: contraception after birth, advice?

Now I have had my baby the doctor is pushing I sort out contraception. I am considering the contraceptive implant, but don't know anyone who has had it to talk to, so I can only read what is available on the internet. Any one have/had the implant and have any opinions or advice. Good or bad? Thanks

I have tried many different contraceptives since I had my son in 2009. The patch was a great one, until I developed an allergy to the adhesive. Then I switched to the Mirena IUD and had to have it removed 5 months later because I was having continual spotting. It never stopped. And then I developed severe abdominal cramps so my OB now did an ultrasound and I had a uterine infection and my body rejected it. But keep in mind, only 10% of women's bodies reject it. Then I tried Seasonique and I LOVED it. This time around I think I'm gonna go with the Implonon implant because I've only had one friend who didn't like it while many others love it. And one even stopped having periods altogether (and she's had it for over two years now.)

I had the implant (but I cant have hormones) so it messed my periods up pretty badly and I wasn't interested in sex anymore...then again I just had a baby too...so not sure which is which. I'm going to be getting copper IUD. I recommend asking your doctor...stories on the internet will scare you.
