Q: Raw skin HELP!

Im not sure if this is pregnancy related or not.. but the skin between my vagina and my thigh (sorry TMI) is very red and raw, its extremely sore! when i wipe it, its like the skin is just peeling right off... i am slightly over weight, and have been for most of my adult life but i dont feel any rubbing going on in that area, and i have never had this problem until the last couple months, and now i cant figure out how to let it heal or what causes it.. anyone else have this happen? or know what it may be ?? thanks

I've been having this problem lately too. I notice it on hot days or when I wear a skirt. I tried using Gold Bond (the talc free, medicated one). I also use my daughter's diaper rash cream in the morning after I've showered. It's totally cleared it up for me. Best of luck!

You might also want to just get it looked at for medical advice at your next appointment. I tend to have this issue when I have yeast infections, as well. But definitely keep the area clean and dry. Wear loose cotton undies and loose enough clothes that don't allow moisture to accumulate. I've got thick legs and know how uncomfortable it can be when you are irritated!! Hope you get some relief soon!

you can also try a hair dryer on low to get completely dry, might be gentler than any additional rubbing

It could be that now that you are pregnant you are not getting it dry enough down there. I am slightly overweight too and I now that during the summer when I sweat under my boobs I get a red, itchly type rash under them. Try just making sure you are getting good and dry in that area. My doctor has also recommended using baby powder to help keep areas dry. Good luck.

No idea what it is, or if this will help. But I find at times I get irritation down there. I assume it is from discharge (not that I have anything concerning coming out lol). I have found great relief from simply using baby wipes. I bought a pack of the sensitive skin baby wipes and a couple times as day I use those instead of toilet paper. I find that while toilet paper removes most `stuff...there can still be a film of whatever left to irritate the skin. The wipes seemed to have helped wonders.

Worth a try. If you think it is from the skin rubbing (on other skin or fabric) you can try a chafting stick (they sell them at running stores) they have aloe and vitamins and prevent friction blisters`(I use on feet for long hikes0. But I wouldn`t put that on now until it is healed more!!
