Q: Having two sets of baby places?

We have our own apartment but other than spending evenings and nights there we don't stay home ever (literally). My Husband can not drive becuase he has seizures, so everyday I get up, drive him to work and then go to my parents house. Their house is closer to where he lives, so it saves me gas money to stay there, and I enjoy spending time with my family (they love having me, and I'm not imposing by any means). My husband works from 7-5 everyday, so from when I drop him off to when I pick him up I am at my parents (other than when I'm working at my part time job). So my question is, is that since I spend so much time at their house, should I keep just as much baby stuff at their house as I do at my own? How should I determine how many things I keep there? Any helpful suggestions or tips would be great. Thanks guys!

I have doubles of some things, such as a bouncy saucer, vibrating chair and bath tubs so I plan on keeping the extras at their house. We have an extra pack n play I think well just keep at their house as well. I guess I didn't really think about it but keeping several diapering essentials would be good to keep there as well (I feel silly for not thinking of it lol). Should I keep a set of bathing things there too or save that for my house? I guess I'm just not sure of what is really essential or helpful.

My parents live about 10 hours driving from us, and I plan to have the majority of my stuff at their house. My husband is going to be deployed during the pregnancy, so I'll be staying with them and have all my baby shower stuff and everything else at their house. Before baby I would visit them at least every 6 months, but after baby I'm sure it will be more often. Since I only have one bedroom there, I am trying to be careful not to overload their house with a ton of baby stuff since they don't have any little kids anymore. I am thinking a small pack & play, a bouncer or swing, a box of toys and some clothes. I'm planning to cloth diaper, so I might keep a bunch of them at their house so I don't have to move them back and forth. Hope that helps. Good luck!

I would definitely do this, at least with the important things that you use all the time like diapers, wipes, bottles, high chair, even a crib (if you can afford it, that is). My mom did this and it is such a time-saver and a load off my mind to not have to think "what do I have to pack" every time I go over there (which is about every other day as she keeps my daughter while I work part-time). My in-laws decided they wanted a crib at their house too so they can keep her whenever they want (and they only live 4 blocks away, lol!)

On the other hand, if it is too pricey to get double everything, it is absolutely possible with good planning to pack up all the things you need for baby to take with you every day. Just depends on your budget. The baby can sleep in a pack-n-play for a long time if that is a better option than buying a second crib.

If I was in that situation,I would keep about 10 pairs of extra clothing for the baby at your parents house, along with diapers, wipes and anything else that's necessary. I would also just bring a diaper bag with 3-4 extra clothes, 10 diapers (you can always leave extras with your parents), wipes, and an other necessary things you would need. The diaper bag would be your plan B if you run out of anything. I would keep 2-3 toys on hand and leave a bouncer chair at your parents too. For baby's nap time, you could leave a bassinet at your parents. This is just something I would do, I hope this helps :)

I traveled a lot from my home in germany (husbands in te air force) to the states back and forth between my parents (wyoming and oregon) and even to mississippi... I had double (even triple of some things) Which included, pack and play, high chair, toys, and swing. Always had a stash of diaper and wipes at all places, extra clothes and blankets as well... Only had one crib which was at my house in germany. One carseat and stroller...I bought all the stuff I ha in germany... but I asked my parents(divorced) to go thirds on everything I needed while stateside... Get double of anything you feel like you would have to pack back and fourth everyday... because bring just the everyday things plus your baby is enough stress! :) and maybe your parents will help you out... good luck! :)
