Also I think it makes my fiancé a little more open to having a gender he might other wise be a little 'disappointed' in having. When we first found out we were pregnant he was like 'I want a son!'. But now after waiting he realizes it doesn't really matter, and LOVES the idea of having a little girl. He keeps telling me to hurry up and have the baby so he can finally know what it is! He's realized it doesn't matter, he just wants a healthy baby, and loves it no matter what.

I call it the Christmas present Theory.
Even if you peek (find out the gender) its still exciting, and you still love your present, but there's nothing like being truly surprised when you finally get to open your present on Christmas day. Waiting just makes it all the more bitter sweet in my opinion.
This is our first, and we have decided to wait.
Plus I don't 'need' to have its room decked out in pink or blue before it gets here, and I like having a verity of color. Using the excuse 'well how will I know what colors to buy!' just isn't a liable excuse to me. It makes you use your imagination a little! How boring is it to have only one color? I have all sorts of greens, yellows, golds, reds, oranges, and browns. Plus once it's born people will GIVE you a ton of gender spacific stuff anyways, so either way you'll get plenty of things to que to people that it's one gender or the other (:

I just found out last week, had a gender u/s I didn't want to wait until 20 weeks. For me I wanted to know so we could decide on a name and I could start calling him that while still in my tummy. I also found that shopping before I found out seemed impossible, the stores are literally divided between girl clothes (pink, purple, yellow, flowers) and boys clothes (blue, red, cars, sports). I'm sure it's possible, but for me I want to be as ready as possible for baby and knowing what we're having helps me get ready.

We didn't find out with our first and we are not finding out with this one either. It's so exciting when the doctor says "It's a boy" or "it's a girl". Like everyone else says there are not many surprises in life anymore. I'm glad I made this decision, not saying it's an easy one. :) I get ultrasounds done every 4 weeks because I am a high risk pregnancy, and it's very tempting to ask, but I haven't yet. The only thing I would like to know would be for picking out a name. I'm going crazy looking for a boy name and think if I knew what we were having I wouldn't have to stress about it if we are having a girl. I love it when people don't find out. I also think when you call people to let them know you had the baby it;s more fun to tell them what you had. Most people tell people what they are having and the name before they are even born, I think it takes the fun out of it. 4 more weeks and I will meet my little one, can't wait. :) Good luck to you and your pregnancy.

#1 DS Waited. It was fun not knowing and it was our 1st somdidn't care either way.it was cool to hear "it's a boy" but honestly, hearing that wasn't really the big excitement of that day. Just having a baby was pretty huge in itself.

#2 DD ultimately found out after my amino results came through. We found out because we both really wanted a girl, and we thought if it was another boy it would be good to know ahead so we didn't get out hopes up(not that I would have loved or been any less grateful for a healthy baby boy). I also thought it would be fun to have both experiences. I really enjoyed knowing. It was really fun to have that extra connection with what was inside of me. The birth day was extremely exciting, I had a VBAC. Knowing that a girl was coming out did not take anything away. In fact I was so joyful to meet my little girl.

#3 we will find out.

As far as, "there aren't many big surprises in life", it's a surprise whether you find out at 17 we

We didn't find out and it was awesome. We happily choose to wait. Some people decide not to find out, and then struggle the entire pregnancy not knowing... we were very peaceful in not knowing. If you can be HAPPY not to know, go ahead and leave it a surprise... if you are going to be one of those mommas that can't stop thinking about if it's a boy or a girl, save yourself the stress and just find out :)

PROS:
1, I didn't over shop. I got what was unnecessary and that was it. I could have spent a lot more money then I did on junk and extra unnecessary clothes if I had known the gender.

2. There are very few secrets in life... very few surprises. This was an amazing one.

3. Pulling him up through my legs, and loving on him for about 3 minutes, and then realizing I still didn't know his gender... and looking and exclaiming "He has balls!!" was a moment I will never forget.

CONS: None.

Aim for beige, whites, browns, and reds for neutrals. They are classy & m
