Q: Gas pain! Nothing helps!

Does anyone know if its okay to take gas-x during pregnancy? I'm 14w4d. The pains have been going on for 12 hours now and tums aren't doing anything. Any advice is appreciated.

I use a site called www.safefetus.com to check medications I might want to take. Here's the report on Gas-X http://safefetus.com/search.php/index/details/DrugId/287/TradeName/Gas-X/TradeId/4685

I typically still call my doctor even if the site says a particular medication is safe, but it at least gives an idea of what a drug's FDA rating might be. Your best bet is to call your doctor because it looks like Gas-X probably isn't something you want to take if you can help it.
