Q: Will my upper and lower belly ever round out??? Do any other bigger ladies have this problem?

I was obese (5' 10", 215 lbs) before I was pregnant and have already gained 40 pounds at 23 weeks and 3 days. I hate that I still have a "top" and "bottom" belly instead of a nice round bump. The middle is starting to round out and I have new stretch marks there but I wish it was a nice round bump. Anybody know if and when this will finally round out?

Thanks ladies! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one out there not sporting the pefectly round little bump. Hopefully I'll round out a bit the further along I go but I guess it doesn't really matter...being healthy and doing what's right for me and baby are the most important!

I am about 5'8" and 195 lbs (overweight - I wear about a size 14/16) and carry a lot of that extra weight in my belly. With my first pregnancy, I certainly did not get the perfect, cute baby bump that many of my slimmer friends got, but I did notice it rounding out more as I got farther along. I was never able to wear the type of maternity clothes that really hug your bump, but I did manage to find some looser, more flow-y tops that kind of skimmed over the bump and made it look rounder. It's all about finding maternity clothes that flatter your figure, just like with regular clothes!

It is hard not to be jealous of moms with good figures and perfect bumps, but try to focus on being healthy and doing what is best for your baby and that is way more important than how you look! Plus, look forward to breast-feeding; it helped me drop 40 lbs after baby was born! Good luck!

I was 13 stone at my 7 week check up and I am now 28 weeks and haven't been weighed since, so no idea what I have put on. I am 5 foot 9 and I was in uk size 14 before pregnancy and around a size 16 to 18 now my belly still hasn't rounded out properly. but with my first pregnancy I was a size 18 second and third 22 and with them 3 it did round out, so in a nutshell I have been much fatter and got a rounded belly with this one I am slimmer and dont have a rounded belly, so weight doesn't seem to affect it for me.
