Well recommendations might be different of every individuals, hence choices is all yours. Electric breast pumps are only good if you know how to control their vacuum and cycles or else it would be better to go with a manual one. Suppliers like http://www.ilexmedical.com/ and others can provide both types of breast pumps; you should choose one that feels comfortable to your breast and your baby.
Here is the pros and cons of both types of pumps:
Manual pump pros:
a. Cost effective
b. More discreet
c. Easy to use
d. Comfortable
Manual pump cons:
A. Requires manual efforts.
B. Needs more time than electric one.
Electric pump pros:
A. Quick and automatic.
B. Doesn’t require much effort.
Electric pump cons:
A. Expensive replacement parts.
B. Consume electricity.

I HIGHLY reccomend an electric breast pump. I have one of each (the manual one I purchased prior to giving birth thinking that since my plan was to exclusively nurse, I would have it incase of an emergency)...and the electric one was purchased after I brought my daughter home when I realized that I didn't want to nurse after she was 4 weeks old. She is now 7 weeks old, and I've been exclusively pumping for the last 3 1/2 weeks...I am also a stay at home mom. I find the electric pump to be faster, easier to use and less tiring. It's so much easier to just connect to for those middle of the night pumping sessions as well. Things dont always go as planned, and sometimes exclusive nursing does not work out for whatever reason...it's good to have options so that you don't get overwhelmed. :)
You can probably rent one from the hospital that you are delivering at (the one I delivered at offered a rental service for $60/month), or you can invest in a good one for about $150. GL!!! :)

With my first child I bought manual breast pump , but Im not very happy...Every time took me around 30 min to express enough milk and my hand was always so tired .... Im also stay at home mom and Im planing to breast feed again ... but this time bought electric breast pump .I ve made research and I think the best for me is Medela . It is a bit expensive but worth it.

Call your insurance company. Many insurance companies are covering breast pumps. My insurance fully covered any breast pump I wanted.

I invested in a manual pump thinking it wouldn't be a hassle and portable...its awful lol your hand definitely gets tired and idk about other moms but my flow of milk isn't fast so it takes like 30 mins to get like an ounce. I rented an electric pump and its made pumping so easy. Its a quarter of the time and when baby is hungry, you don't have time to pump manually to have enough to satisfy them. That's just my experience. (:
