Q: Waxing?

Would like to know if it is safe to wax eyebrows, upper lips. I will be 7 weeks on Thursday. Can't think of any way this can be harmful since it is my face but wanted to ask for opinions anyway. Can it hurt in any way?

Thank you in advance for your help ladies!

Thank you so much, you ladies have been very helpful. I appreciate it. I guess I will go ahead with it then. I did a lot of research and all I found was that my skin may just be more prone to irritation now and that's all.

Hi there iam a licensed cosmetologist as well and there should be no reason why you couldnt continue with your routine waxing services. As of right now there is no evidence that suggests that waxing can be harmful during pregnancy. Sensitivity due to increased blood flow can cause the skin to become more inflamed and make the procedure more painful. Make sure you make your stylist aware that you are pregnant just to be safe.

I'm a licensed cosmetologist and wax my own brows and lip once a week. If i didn't I'd look like a wooly mammouth. Just be sure to sunscreen after because it strips the natural protective oils from your skin and puts you at a greater risk for getting chloasma if you go outside after.

i don't think it can do any harm, i just think people avoid it as i think your skin is more sensitive when pregnant, so you may have a worse reaction than normal!
