Q: Will my baby come out unhealthy or with a disorder?

Ok. So I've been so excited ever since I found out I am pregnant and I am now about 31 weeks along and realizing something horrible! I've never been a big drinker and only drank a couple of times before becoming pregnant. I thought I had never drank while pregnant, but after going through some fun family trip pictures of my brother and me visiting my parents I realized I was wrong! Back in late May my brother and I were visiting my parents and they took us wine tasting at a vineyard. Now that I've done the math I would've been between 4-5 weeks pregnant at the time! I didn't get drunk, but I did try several glasses of several different wines... I'm now terrified my baby will come out with some sort of problem..... Is that one time so early on enough to hurt my poor baby? Advice please!!!

Don't stress about it because that isn't good for you growing baby, no drinking that little bit in the beginning shouldn't affect your baby at all.. I was on bi polar meds that were really strong in the first 5 to 6 weeks that I was pregnant because I didn't know I was pregnant and was still on the meds and I am very thankful that it didn't affect my growing daughter.. Just stay positive and if you have had good/positive prenatal appointments then you shouldn't worry because you would have found issues already with your baby if it was something that affected your baby in the developing stages.

You can't go stressing out over the smallest things while pregnant. My sister popped pills, smoked & ate terribly & her baby is healthy as they come. Sometimes when babies are born with issues we tend to beat ourselves up thinking it was something we did wrong & that's not the case at all. Anything can happen for any reason. good luck & try to stay calm.

ive read that nothing can cross the placental barrier untill after 7 weeks as they are first feeding off the yolk sack and the placenta is under developed so untill approx 7 weeks nothing gets to them from you anyway. I had a few drinks at 4 weeks and i found out the next day i was pregnant i told the drs and they said its fine it wont hurt them that early.

I know a woman who didnt know she was pregnant until she was over 5 months, in that time she was a heavy drinker and drug user and her daughter is fine!

alot of people find out that they are pregnant around 4weeks to as late as 12 weeks and so it happens as long as you are not constantly drinking throughout your pregnancy and or knowingly drinking while you are pregnant period you should be fine

you cannot undo it, so do not stress. Some people do ALOT worse during pregnancy than have a couple of glasses of wine! you will be fine. In the early stages the little thing is pretty resilient....and if there were any problems, surely it would have been detected by now.

A close friend of mine did not find out she was pregnant until she was 2 months along. During that time she did have some alcohol and her daughter turned out just fine. I would try not to worry about it especially since you didn't have a whole lot.
