Q: Bad position for ultrasound

I went for my anatomy ultrasound and the tech said the baby was in a really bad position and they couldn't measure a very important structure in his brain.

I came back 2 days later, and they still couldn't measure it properly, so I have to go back again next week.

Should I be worried at all? Any advice on hos to get him to move??

Same thing happen to me with my first. I had to come back twice before they could see everything (I did everything but stand on my head to try to get that baby to cooperate!) and she is now 2.5 and perfect!. My current pregnancy they did the scan and couldn't see her face well, had me see the doctor, and then come back. They tilted the table so far back I thought I would fall off and she finally moved her head so they could see her face. It was beautiful! Sometimes babies do not cooperate but wouldn't worry yet!! Good luck and hope your little one cooperates the next time!

With this one they couldn't check his kidneys or his lips so I had to go back. At first the male tec had me drink more water, then empty my bladder then walk up an down stairs, but it didn't work. Went bk a week later to a female tec who just tilted the bed upside down so my feet were in the air, an that worked.

With my first they couldn't see all the chambers of his heart due to his position (20 week ultrasound). They just rescheduled me for another ultrasound 6 weeks later and checked them then and he was in a better position by then and they could see them clearly. It actually made me excited as I was only suppose to have one ultrasound and it meant I would have another look at my baby! :)

If there was a way to move your baby into a better position the ultrasound tech would be the one to tell you! That's their job. My baby did the same thing. The first ultrasound they spent 2 hours, 7 ultrasound attempts, made me walk halls, they jabbed at baby made me roll over etc etc. Finally after 2 hours of me having to go in and out of the room (to let others have their appointments) they finally said we need to rebook you. Then the tech, who was determined said one last try and sure neough baby gave up and showed what they needed!

Next ultrasound baby once again refused to cooperate and it took a long time and two techs to finally get my baby to do what they needed. Needless to say for a long time I was known as "the one with the difficult baby" and baby went by "difficult baby" "stubborn" and "uncooperative"! Luckily she now cooperates at all scans. I get one every 2 weeks due to my type 1 diabetes. My baby is 100% healthy and str
