Q: Maternity Clothes

When did you start wearing Maternity Clothes? I only 6 weeks and my bloat makes wearing my normal clothes so uncomfortable. I haven't gain any weight yet and I'm at a healthy weight. This is my second child but my 1 is 9 years old so its been quiet awhile since I've been pregnant last lol.

My spouse started wearing maternity clothes in her 5th week. It all depends on one's body structure. Some starts wearing in 10th week. But for comfort it will be better if started earlier for comfortable purpose.

I started maternity clothes at about 14 weeks, but before that, I was very uncomfortable. I had some clothes from friends (all my friends give me their old clothes) that were a size up from my usual and used those for the in-between phase since I was just bloated but not really the maternity shape. I can still fit in my regular clothes, but maternity are much more comfortable (not to mention adorable since they accent my little baby bump)

I am 11 weeks and just converted over to all maternity clothes this past weekend. People keep asking me how far I am and when I say only 11 weeks I get the oh my gosh you are huge line, which I have come to be very annoyed with. I have always been a tiny girl, even now I am still tiny everywhere else and just look to be about 20 weeks instead of 11. If I wouldn't have had an ultra sound done at 7weeks (which showed just 1 baby) I'd still be convinced it was two.

I'm 26 weeks and still in my normal clothes, but I recently ordered some maternity jeans from Old Navy. I also haven't gained much weight, but the extended due date calculator thing on here said I would have needed them since November. So I think its probably common to start wearing them in the 2nd trimester. Hope that helps!

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I'm still wearing my normal clothes.
I bought one pear of maternity pants and two or three shirts around 20 weeks, but I haven't been wearing them. I stopped wearing jeans around 14 weeks though, and started wearing sweats or dress pants.

I started wearing maternity tops around 14 weeks (needed maternity shirts because of breast growth more than tummy growth at that point) and I started mixing in maternity jeans and dress pants with my regular pants around 18 weeks. I still wear a lot of my normal pants (25w3d now), I just use a belly band and leave them unbuttoned or I use hair ties to extend them (loop a hair tie over the button, run it through the hole on the other side, and then loop it back over the button again).

Since you're still pretty early, I'd definitely recommend trying a belly band or extending your regular pants with hair ties for as long as you can (especially since the bloat should improve soon). That way when you absolutely have to buy maternity pants, you can invest in some that will last you longer into your pregnancy.

PS congrats on your little bean!

I bought some really nice yoga pants - they almost looked like dress pants and wore them from about 8 weeks until now. I had to switch to maternity jeans around 12 weeks. I just couldn't take any pressure on my abdomen without being totally uncomfortable.

All my regular clothes fit me until about 10 weeks, then I tried buying pants one size up which worked for awhile. Im 20 weeks now and the one size bigger pants are very uncomfortable. Ive been wearing maternity pants when i was working, and i have a pair of maternity yoga pants also. I haven't had to wear any maternity shirts yet, but i will soon because i don't want to stretch out all my non pregnancy shirts.
