Q: Has anyone.... glucose fail?

I had my one hour glucose testing done and was told my levels were elevated so now Im waiting to hear back for scheduling a 3 hour test. My questions is what do they do during a three hour test and what has everyone outcomes been.?

I also failed both and just like Stephpan said you'll get a fasting blood draw then you'll drink the nasty drink and then every hour get a blood draw. YOU more then likely will start feeling a bit nauses durning the 3 hours, this normal because of all the sugar in ya. I hope you pass.

My doctor said for their one hour they dont make you fast so thats why I didnt but I go next tuesday morning for the three hour how im going to make it not eating till about 11 idk..... wish me luck

Failed the 1 hr, but was told that it's never very accurate. Passed the 4 hour one though. All 4 times they drew blood I passed.

I failed the one hour (fasting) and then failed the three hour. The three hour test goes something like this - you get there and they take a "fasting" blood sample. Then you chug a sugar drink (they'll provide it). It is not the best thing I've ever had. Kind of like drinking a melted Popsicle - just like at the one hour. Then at the 1/2 hour mark after drinking the sugar drink they take a sample. Then at the hour mark, the two hour mark and the three hour mark. I'd make sure to schedule the test as early as possible and take a snack for afterwards. A lot of people do fail the one hour and then pass the second time. I'd make sure you fast this time though.

I didn't fast... but I was i only 6 points over the normal so the 3 hour testing should clear it up.

Did you "Fast" properly before test? Eveyone I know didnt... and got stuck doing the 3r. BOO. Good luck!

Everyone I know seems to fail that test. I failed it and had to do 3 hour. I had to sit at the hospital and get poked every hour. It isn't so bad just really boring and I was starving!
