Q: Hyphenated baby names in BC, Canada

Hi ladies,

My husband & I are thinking of giving our baby a hyphenated last name, but were wondering whether there are rules or limitations as to when it can be done. We live in BC and would welcome any info you can provide us.
Thanks

I also live in BC and am thinking of combining our last names with no hyphen and I am pretty sure anything goes.

This is from the BC gov site.

Choosing a Name

You can choose any name you like for your baby. Your baby must have a first name (given name) and a last name (surname). You can give your baby one or more middle names if you wish. The babyâ??s surname can be different from the mother or fatherâ??s surname. The babyâ??s surname can be two surnames, hyphenated or combined together.

So you can make something up if you want...which I shouldn't tell my partner because that would just amuse him to no end :)
