Q: I've nicknamed my embryo! is that strange?

Everybody else is calling it baby, but because my middle name is Dot, with suggestion from an educational video, and because I think I'm insane,

I'm calling it Speck. Or Specklet. Sometimes its Speckling, too dependant on my mood or current actions.

So, just for kicks, how weird am I, on a scale of 1-20?

Our baby is called "Dax", which is a star trek reference to a life form that lives in the belly of a host and can be either male or female (since we are opting not to find out the sex of the baby before the birth)...are we weird? Ok, the star trek (hubby is a trekkie) reference makes us weird, but giving the baby a code name? not strange at all!! Congrats on Specklet!

Ours is called peanut for now and this is what i have been writing on my holiday cards to the family !
I think giving it a nickname is perfectly normal and no name is too weird! :)

We're calling ours peanut.... and I'm pretty sure the name will stick after she (or he) is born. DH was nicknamed grub and that has stuck for the last 40 years!

Not weird at all. My husband and I called our girl thumper (because the heart went thump, thump) until we found out she was a girl, then we started calling her by her name. I think its totally normal!

Not weird at all, just super cute!! Bonding with baby already, which is so wonderful! Enjoy every moment!

Now if you give birth and the name sticks then the weirdo-meter will def go way up :)
