I think anyone can host it, even yourself and that it's never too late. I'm having mine in May and I;m due in July, but we chose to have it then so that way we have enough time to get what we still need and didn't receive at the shower. My step mom and a family friend are hosting mine and I'm helping with what I can, and I'll probably chip in for food.

For me, the ladies in my wedding party hosted mine so the cost was split between 3 people. A lot of the times the grandmothers(to your baby) will chip in too so it just depends. As for when to do it is totally up to you. I had mine at 30 weeks which is early but I didn't want to be a whale for pictures lol. Whatever you feel comfortable with:)

I think anyone can host it - a friend, family, or yourself! I think the host usually pays for things.
Several of my friends, my mom, and my sister-in-law are hosting mine together.

Im from New Zealand and my friend had a baby shower for me on Saturday. She had is at her house and did amazing decorating, games etc. I pitched in with buying beverages from wine to sodas and everyone was told to bring a plate of food. I am almost 36 weeks but I think you can have one anytime! Best of luck.
