If you really like cold cuts, my doctor said I can just heat up the meat, and then throw it in the freezer real quick to get it cold again and then eat it. She said that the listeria cannot grow back that fast, so if your really craving a cold sandwich it has worked for me so far.

Several times throughout my first pregnancy I ate at Subway. I always heat up my subs anyways, but several times I forgot I shouldn't REALLY be eating cold cuts. Nothing ever happened, don't beat yourself up over it!

Don't worry I have eaten deli meats many times this pregnancy. I also eat soft cheeses. My doctor said it is sooo unlikely but they just advise against it just to be safe.

Homemade ice cream is a no go though because the egg yolks aren't always cooked properly before chilling. I just remembered that.

Almost none. Don't worry, you can't change the past. I ate sprouts the other day in my pho-I just zapped them in the microwave. I am also not that hung up on soft cheese as long as it's pasteurized. I wouldn't eat cold cuts every day but if you forget and have some I think it will be fine. Especially if they are stored safe. And as far as I know, ice cream is fine. Especially McDonalds-they're food has so many chemicals in it I can't imagine how anything living could survive in it anyway plus the cold would limit bacterial growth.

My doctor told me listeria is pretty rare, and that I shouldn't up my odds by eating cold cuts, cold subs, or any cold deli meats (even fried chicken that's been sitting out) more than once per week. So I'm not as finicky as the ladies who never eat those kinds of things. Plus, with listeria, you may not even know you have it until nearly a month later, so don't worry your heart too much :) Also...I've never heard any no no's on ice cream! What's that about?

I don't think there's an actual statistic on this one though I wish there was. It's all risk factor. Basically you roll the dice and pray. Apparently heating up cold cuts is the only way to ensure it's safe to eat. I'm sure you're fine as I'm sure listeria poisoning isn't super common but I would't risk it in the future. I LOVE Subway and don't really like heated subs so I know how you feel! Just one of the many things we shouldn't eat:(
