Its also called GBS. I was positive for it in my first pregnancy some how. When I was in labor they gave me and iv of antibiotics. I had no symptoms. You have it and some dont. Then when the baby is born they are given antibiotics and you re given another iv of anitbiotics after you have the baby.. It's not something liike an std so dont worry. Here's a link that might be useful. I didnt have it in my second pregnancy and im on my third but havgvent gotten that far in testing yet. http://www.medicinenet.com/group_b_strep/article.htm
I hope this helps and good luck

From what I was told by my doctor, you can be a carrier & not have symptoms but if not treated during labor that your baby could get it & you could eventually get symptoms...just because you test positive doesnt meen you have it,it just meens you are a carrier, treatment is an option & your not required to do it but the center for disease will contact you about it & ask you to get treated. I haven't gotten my test yet..Im only 31 wks & to be honest I really don't remember having it done with the other 2 pregnancies, what was the procedure for the test?
