Q: Baby shower etiquette

My mom ants to throw the shower. I was under the impression that it should be be thrown by someone who is isn't as closely related to me ( friend, aunt, mother in law)

I've never heard that, that doesn't really make sense to me but I technically did my own shower. My mom and I paid for and planned everything. Its just what we do in our family.

I agree, let her throw you one. I didn't have one with my first, but this time my step-mom and a close family friend are throwing one in my small town and then two weeks after my MIL is throwing me one.

that's definitely old etiquette that doesn't really get followed much anymore. Ive never been to a shower where the mother/sisters didnt throw it!

Let whoever wants to throw the shower throw it! It won't make a difference and everyone will have a good time. People are going to be more concerned over whether you are having one than over who throws it (in fact, most people won't even think about who is hosting. They're focus is going to be on YOU and BABY).
