Q: Positive fFN test (fetal fibneotcin) Anyone have any advice or stories to

Went to doctor today with some new symptoms. Doctor performed a fFN test and it came back positive. I am going to have an ultrasound this Thursday or Friday to check the cervix. Because it was positive I have a higher risk for giving birth before 35 weeks.

If anyone has gone through this and have any thoughts they are willing to share, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much!

My fFN test came back positive at 31 wks with my second child, I was in and out of the hospital to stop labor about one a week until 36wks 2days when she was born. I was on Terbutaline pills to keep contractions to a minium, I refused to take them past 36 wks because they are not FDA approved to stop labor contractions (FYI it is a FDA approved drug for asthma) in retrospect I wish I would have contined to take them, my DD ended up the NICU for a week. I was really hard emotionally for me to make the decision to stop taking them, they made me feel horrible (shaking, racing heart beat) and I wasn't sure if they were doing her any harm. If I have to take them again I will put on my big girl pants and continue to take them as long as I need to.
