Go ahead and eat it, but be prepared, as everyone else said, for heartburn! If my friend's homemade salsa recipe, which burns your nose if you are 10 feet away from it, didn't induce labor on my other friend at 39 weeks, I think you should be fine. Like Kelliers said, don't eat the core of the pineapple, but I don't know anyone that would. Enjoy your cravings! :)

Heartburn would be your highest concern. Other than that, the chances of it starting labor is slim to none. Eat away.

The only thing that might happen is nasty heartburn. Just don't eat the pineapple core-it contains bromine which can actually induce labor. I don't know anyone who eats the cores, though. Bleck.

My Doctor also says that there is no evidence that eating certain foods will cause labor. I think it is an old wives tale. Eat what you want. Just keep in mind that certain foods, like spicy foods, will possibly give you more or worse heartburn or tummy trouble.

I think you have to eat A LOT of pineapple/spicy food to induce labor. My dr has always said that the only way the "old wives tales" work to induce labor is if you were about to go into labor in the first place!

They might not actually make you go into labour, they don't work for everyone so you should be ok to have them
