Maybe the blood work is wrong or they messed it up.

Hcg level of 1 is considered negative, you are right about this one. However, at 5 weeks and 4 days (with baby in there ) there is No way your beta is going to be 1, even if the baby didn't survive you'd still test positive. Something is going on at your hospital. Either the u/s or the blood result are incorrect. I hope is the blood work...and I hope your next beta shows the right number. Fingers crossed :) xxx

Yeah I'm not sure...you can usually see the heartbeat right around 6 weeks so it would have been a little early. I hope they follow up-1 is definitely a level that indicates not pregnant but your levels must have gotten high enough at some point to make a sac...very strange.

5w/4d is a bit early for a heartbeat. You can see the yolk but that's about it. The negative blood test baffles me. Even if the baby didn't survive you'd still test positive. It takes about 5 weeks after a miscarriage for the hcg to go down to zero. There is no relevance between the u/s and the negative beta. This is really strange and it doesn't make sense. Perhaps do another blood test? ...I am beginning to wonder whether they messed up your beta result with somebody else

What do you mean negative? As in, your hcg is below the threshold to be considered pregnant? It sounds like you lost the baby early on but haven't started to miscarry yet. Keep us posted, though-I hope it ends up being a positive outcome.
