ITs a wivestale. If i went by the heartbeat my baby would be a girl BUT the ultrasound at 18 weeks clearly showed im having a boy :)

With my first child, the heartbeat was lower and the baby was a boy, and with my second child the heartbeat was higher and the baby was a girl. I'm not sure if this is true or not for the old wives tale... but for my kids it worked.

It's an old wives tale....so old that it was used during the times when technology (no dopplers, etc.) was such that medical professionals were only able to detect the heart rate of the child's heart during LABOR and DELIVERY... at which point...aren't we close enough to finding out?!?!

Its a wives tale, but both of my boys had heart rates of 128. So were hoping for a higher beat this time! Maybe we will get our girl.

It's a wivestale, but it's fun to speculate. Check out the forum topic on this called "Let's do an experiment" where people say their baby's HB and gender.
