Q: Low Placenta

I went in for an ultrasound at 20 weeks. The ultrasound technician told me that the placenta was low but at this stage, it was normal. I'm going to get another ultrasound in about a month.

Has anyone ever had this problem? I'm kind of nervous that it will stay the way it is and cause harm to the baby :(

I had this with my last pregnancy as well as this pregnancy. In both cases by the time I went for my second sono, it had moved up and no worries. Just make sure you don't have sex or anything that your doc said not to do until you go for your second sono.

My placenta was laying low with my last pregnancy and it ended up moving up and out of the way, and I was able to deliver him vaginally.

They are probably just wanting to make sure you don't have previa. If you have placenta previa you can not deliver vaginally. This is very rare, though. Most placentas move upward as the uterus expands.
