Q: Baby Shower

I got a surprise call from my oldest friend last night, where I found out my Mum & her had been discussing a baby shower for me. She wanted to know if I wanted one (which I guess I do..?..!) and if so, what to do and whom to invite.

Therein lies the problem; most of my friends are male..! I'd really like to do a co-sex baby shower, rather than just a women-only baby shower, since I would also rather share the experience with my SO. Since you know, it's his baby too!

I wondered if anyone had any ideas about how to hold a baby shower that includes guys as well as girls. One that doesn't scare men away. According to SO, baby showers are scary. Who knew? Haha.

I'm going to be doing some internet research on this too, but wanted to know if anyone had done this or been to one in the past, or was planning one like this.

I just read an article that stated that during the co-ed shower, men and women socialized and mingled for a while and then the men departed next door where lunch was set up for them while the females eat and open gifts. I know what you mean about having men at the shower as I also have an abundance in male friends and not as many females.

We did a family coed shower for my son. It was a BBQ and we had a poker table set up for the guys and the girls did games. Just make it very low key with only a few games and make sure there is alcohol!
