Q: Hands are so swollen!! Carpal tunnel still??

My hands are so swollen I cant shut them into a fist and cant grasp nothing properly. Is this another symptom of the wonderful carpal tunnel?? My feet are only slightly swollen and face is normal so not concerned about pre-eclampsia.

Im getting sooooo cheesed off with this carpal tunnel, im in agony most nights and the splint isn't doing nothing!! I could cry (and have done!) My consultant just shrugged it off and said it will probably go 6 weeks after birth! I don't think I can handle another 14 weeks of this!!! :( :(

I don't know how helpful this is but I am dealing with the exact same thing. It is absolutely miserable. The swelling is actually what causes the carpel tunnel syndrome. It is swelling around the nerve in the area that pinches it and causes the numbness/pain.

The only things that help even a little is making sure that I get plenty of water and occasionally icing my wrist/forearm. This will probably not take the problem away completely, but may help alleviate it enough to deal with.

Good Luck!
