I couldn't find my baby's heartbeat until around 12 weeks with the Angelsounds. And even then, the room had to be SUPER silent, the volume ALL the way up, and I really had to concentrate. It took about 15-20 minutes to find her. Now, at 17 weeks, I can usually find her in a matter of seconds. Surprisingly, I also found that water works MUCH better than the gel that came with the doppler. I can make a little puddle on my belly and the sounds are much more clear (plus the doppler doesn't get messy!!). Wait a few more weeks and try again. Trying too early can be really discouraging, I found that out myself!!

10 weeks. You have to put the Doppler low on your pelvic bone and push hard.

Most drs don't even try to find the heartbeat with a Doppler until 12 wks. Sometimes it takes up to 14. You may want to try back in a few weeks just to avoid the stress.

My doc and my sister's doc told us both they usually can't even hear the heartbeat until AFTER 10 weeks.
Sometimes even right at the 10 week mark it's too soon. :)
