Q: Spotting at 18 weeks?

I am 18 weeks today and I noticed a couple drops of bright red blood when I wiped after I used the restroom. (please don't tell me to call my doctor, I am currently waiting for them to call back) I was just wondering is this normal...or has any other mommies experienced this? I'm not really cramping, just a constant pain on on the left lower side of my belly.

I've never experienced that, however my friend said she had mild spotting throughout her pregnancy and today she has a happy and healthy 7month old baby girl. God bless.

Thank you. I JUST went to the bathroom again, and it seems as if the spotting disappeared. It's weird. lol never happened in my previous pregnancy.

I experienced pinkish red spotting at 20 wks with my current pregnancy. I hadn't had recent (within 48 hrs) intercourse or a pelvic exam, so I was sent to labor & delivery to get checked out bc it was after hours. They couldn't ever find the cause of the spotting & it hasn't happened since. They said spotting in pregnancy is fairly common, however, it is always good medicine to get any amt of bleeding checked out.
