I put on a lot of weight early in pregnancy. I was really worried about it and started researching. I found that runners tend to put on a lot of weight in the beginning b/c they have low body fat. My weight was creeping up so fast, and starting at week 10 I was STARVING! But it leveled off and I'm holding steady at the same weight. I think every body has a different body, and as long as you are eating healthy it's probably what your body needs. So don't worry too much about the number of pounds in the beginning but the overall trend.

I was also a healthy eater and didn't want to put on more than the necessary weight you need for a healthy baby. I put on exactly 30lbs and that is a good number for my starting weight/height. I weighed 119lbs when I got pregnant and I'm 5'4". Up until about week 24 (around), I had only gained 11lbs. So all of the rest of that weight came afterwards. Don't worry too much about the weight. It's going to steadily go up no matter how healthy you eat, which is a good thing :) Find out what a healthy weight gain for your height/weight is...there's stuff online to do that.
