Q: Mother's weight and size of baby?

At my 28 week scan my baby has dipped to just below average in size.. but I havent gained much weight in second trimester.
In third trimester, if I gain a bit more (healthy foods) can I help my baby grow a bit bigger??

I agree with both of the other ladies. Your weight gain is not indicative of health or size of baby. With my first, I had such severe morning sickness I lost 30 lbs & only gained 9 of it back. My daughter was in the 90th percentile for size. Just eat healthy & baby will take what it needs.

I agree with Sianny. Also, keep in mind that babies grow at varying rates, so you might have had the scan just before a growth spurt. If baby is just below average that is definitely not something to worry about!

That's not really how it works as your talking about increasing your bmi, most of the weight you will put on is actually water and baby. There is no such thing as a healthy diet weight gain unless you are medically underweight.
Eat a healthy balanced diet as recommended by you health care provider and you will put on just as much as you need too and so will baby.
