Q: Do you think that nameing my son Jethro is going to cause problems as he gets older?

I love the name Jethro because it sounds like a good strong name. It's Hebrew for abundance but Im afraid that he may have issues as the name Jethro is a deep south name.

kids gave me a hard time as I grew up and I met other kids that got teased for it too.. it was tough and many times I cried but after middle school I started not caring about it and eventually got compliments on it! so now its completely opposite!.. I say go for it.. It taught me to be much stronger and stand up for my self.. being a petite girl that I am..

I avoided names that I knew they would be picked on for..just because I knew how mean kids can be.

I very seriously considered the name Jethro. If kids want to tease each other, they will find a way, no matter what you name him. And, with all of the outrageous names floating around out there, there is little fear in my mind that Jethro would be a tough name to grow up with. He may decide to go by Jed or by his initials of it really bothers him...you do what you want to do! Jethro is a great name!

Kids are cruel, but if you really like the name that much use it. I named my son Tucker and with our last name I'm sure there will be some teasing but I loved the name and it was the only name my husband and I could agree on.
