Q: Weening off prometrium

I am on prometrium vaginally 200mg. I was supposed to stop at 10 weeks, I am now over 12 and my doctor told me to stop or I can chose to ween off If I would like by taking one pill a day. Is this a common way to stop progesterone? Also any suggestions on weening off?

I'm on Crinone which is a progesterone vaginal gel. My doc said to take til 12 weeks, no need to wean off progesterone since your body makes it too. I only need to wean off steroids and blood thinners starting at 12 weeks.
