I am a nurse and have NEVER heard a h.i.v panel coming back an Indeterminate result because of hcg in the system usual causes for that result can be an early stage hiv infection antibodies have not reached a certin level to show a true pos result. Good luck hopefully all turns out ok for you.

Well, after some research I found out that they run 2 tests when they do this HIV panel, and the pregnancy hormones can cause one of them to show a false positive, and the other comes up negative. Then they send an "Indeterminate" result to the doctor. It would have been fantastic if the PA who called me would have TOLD me this instead of letting me sweat it out!! I had more bloodwork done and it confirmed a negative result, so I am super relieved today! Thank you for the well wishes!
